Thread Starter | Hi, friends, I need to play a 4-track half inch reel on a B-16 machine, and I need to get 4 seperate wave files for each track, how to fulfill this? Is it correct if I group the 1~4 output as track one; 5~8 as two; 9~12 as three and 13~16 as track 4? Thanks for your help! |

That should work, but you'll get some bass bump from fringing, and maybe more crosstalk if there's track overlap. Play around with it, you've got some options.

Wrong EQ curve. B16 would not be a NAB PB where the 1/2" 4 track would be. Gap scatter is also a consideration on the B16. Playing back a single channel back across several tracks is asking for phase problems. Are you unable to get access to a 1/2" 4 track deck?
