Want to recreate a Pultec EQP1A3

Hello,

I am considering recreating a Pultec EQP1A3 and was hoping I could find someone that has possibly made a similar attempt or just any valid links (I found a few dead ones) to previous attempts.

I don't have access to one, so I can't reverse-engineer. I must be out of my mind.

As far as I know the secret of the Pultec is in the transformers. (In-Interstage-Out?)You can build one but it will never sound like one without the original transformers.

If you buy original Pultec transformers, you can almost buy the whole unit. They are extremely expensive.

I made a solid state Pultec with Haufe trannies (Haufe is used in Neumann gear).
See this thread on the LAB.

It probabely does not sound like the real deal but it sure sounds really nice to me AND it's stereo, with matched components and rotary switches.
Look at the sowter website for remakes of the pultec trannies. They are expensive bur still nothing near what you'll pay for a second hand Pultec on Evilbay...
