Thread Starter | Computer Wont Detect Mic Hey just got in my at4040 and fmr rnp, im a super n00b at this stuff so i got a tip and ring cable and plugged them into insert and out jacks, but when i record it only records either on the left ear or the right ear on my headphones. i switched em around to all possible combos but still only getting one side, how do i get the vocals to record equal? |

| You are recording one source.. one mic. one preamp. Therefore if you can hear it ok, it is recorded correct. To hear it on both sides of the headphones you need to pan it correctly. Perhaps you are recording on a stereo track? You need to be recording on a mono track, then pan it to middle. You can still pan a stereo track in the middle (or split into a mono) Quite alot of reading you can do for those new to recording but hopefully what I have said will help you along somewhat. Also, if we knew what software you are using it would help. All the best |
