General fx question..how to you mix them?

I wanted to ask everybody about the reverbs/delays and fx etc
do you make several aux tracks and insert the fx and send the kick/snare/guitars/vox .everything to be specific to the same reverbs and delays ?

Or do you use individual for each element
diffrenet reverbs and delays for the drums..diffrent for the vocals and etc

cause many enginners i have heard that they use the same to glue the mix together..but i find that if i send everything to the same reverbs/delays/fx..that my mix starts to become a little less clear..i must say it glues the mix ..but many times it comfuses my mix...

And one more issue
if you mix the drums.and send them all to some reverbs and plates..then you take all of them and send them to a mix bus ?including the tracks?o do you send only the tracks to a drums buss and leave the fx to the main output?

I am aksing that cause this is the way i was mixing for some time.but when i sended the drums to a buss..and duplicated the buss to do parallel compression ..i found that most of the times after the blend that i had to lower the volume of the reverbs and plates cause they started to be noticable

anyway..hope you can share you mixing methods.
