Thread Starter | Strange RFI problem w/ DI and Amp
When I record gtr and bass thru a DI into a pre all good. When I split the signal off the DI and hit an amp with it I gets tons of RFI in the DI'd track. You can actually hear commercials and music etc.. Any ideas out there? Some goofy impedance thing? |

Possibly a ground loop. Try lifting the DI or the amp.

| It could be the amp. Do you have another amp to try? -tINY |

It's happened twice with 2 different amps. The fact that an amp is involved is the only commonality. No problem with just the di. hmmm....

How are you "splitting the signal off" the d.i. ?

Using a Countryman DI which has a parallel out. Gtr goes in a 1/4" in and comes out an XLR into the mic pre and out a 1/4" into the amp.
