Hi
What is wrong with rattling the cage of the person who sold you the desk? They all HAD them from the factory someone must have it now.

| i have these
I have a full set of these and would be willing to share them.
I am also curious if you got any other responses on this? The manuals I have are for the revision after my board, so are a bit off, so I'm also searching for anyone who might have some of the earlier manuals or whatever.
Is this for your board, or are you teching someone else's board? Where are you located?
I'm also thrilled to get in touch with someone else who owns this board. I'm kind of between board techs right now and trying to find someone who can get (and keep) my board working 100%. I do know certain things about this board from having worked on it. I am willing to share what I know, and hope that I can get tips and info from other board owners.

I have just started to recap my Neve 66 console, 36 channel frame. It works but lots of problems with signal levels. Also i have the flying fader system, computer is still working but i don´t know how and where to connect a timecode signal.
I have a complete set of manuals. The board has been modified by siemens ( including 40 stereo RTW peakmeter.

Hi Arno
Tje timecode connection should be found if you look through the Flying Fader part of the documentation, which would give a clue as to which circuit board it goes to. It could be on the computer or on the desk itself.
If your levels are a bit wild I suggest leaving them until you have recapped completely as unless it has been 'tweeked' in the past as it has been gradually failing, it is likely that the adjustments are correct and it is the various failing capacitors that are making it look 'out of line'. If you start adjusting things with some faulty paths in there you are likely to have to spend ages lining stuff up.

Hi Arno,
We are just starting to recap ours as well. It's a 24 channel board.
The first thing we are going to replace are the larger axial caps, since they appear to be what's causing the problem with our direct outs (which are the biggest problem). Alot of the other levels (channels -> auxes, channels -> groups, channels -> main output) are off too, but the direct outs are really bad, so we're starting there.
Are you recapping everything? How far are you into it? any advice? any questions?
Regarding your manuals: which revision is your board? Maybe the best questions here are:
a) What are some of the EVXXXXX module numbers on your modules (the mono modules for instance)? Do your manuals coorespond with the manuals?
b) What is the copyright date on the module drawings in the manuals? the ones that coorespond with my board seem to almost always say 1989. Most of the manuals I have are for a later board, and the dates for that say 1990.
We're also trying to build extender cables right now to make testing easier, but finding the right connectors for IDC cables is really tough.
As far as I know, my board has Uptown automated faders, but I don't have the computer for it. I think this might be different from what you have, but I'm not really sure. I've never looked into getting it working.
Most of my meters don't work, and I'm starting to look into getting something to replace them. I'd like VU meters anyhow.
How long have you had your neve66?
In case it's useful to anyone: I now know how to make a proper serial cable for this board, so that you can talk to the computer. We also had to make replacement rechargable battery packs for the inline memory cards.

Hi! I also bought one of this podcast consoles and i have a Manual. On Monday i´ll pick it up at a local Radio Station in our Town.
I am very lucky because the guy at Simens Austria who was installing this console in 1989 or so, will help me to install it at my studio.
he told me to change the elkos and transistors would be good for the sound.
i want this desk only for mic pres and some eqs into my apoggee!
How are the mic pres?

Great. Would you be willing to share the manual with me? I'd like to find out if you perhaps have the right version of the manuals. I'll hit you with a private message so maybe we can exchange email addresses.
As for the sound, it sounds somewhere in the realm of the VR boards (as compared to the vintage neve boards). I am very happy with it.

| need neve 66 parts / expansion?
Neve 66 owners,
I just replaced my neve 66 with a new ssl board. Sad to see it go, but had to do it.
Anyway, I am trying to sell the neve 66 currently, but am also open to selling it for parts.
Anyone need anything?
This would be a great opportunity to get a cache of spare parts or to expand your board to a bigger format.
Power supplies, faders, channel strips (totally professionally recapped 6 mo ago), computer / interface cards, center section modules, vu meters, ppm meters, frame/trim / cosmetic parts, manuals, psu cables, transformers, connectors, etc???
I also have a stock of replacement transistors and things like extender cables...
Let me know.

| Neve 66 series manuals
Hey All,
I know I'm a year late to these posts but I'm also looking for an operating manual for the 66 series...I have the set up and alt set up guide and also the block wiring diagrams.
I'd be more than willing to trade those (.pdf format) for the owners/operating manual)
Please let me know, thanks!
