Building a VU Meter Bridge

Recently I scrapped a Tascam 44 1/4" tape machine for parts. I kept the meter bridge which includes 4 TEAC VU's and 8 attenuation pots meant to adjust input and output level for the machine. I would like to use the VU's to monitor outputs from my daw.

Can someone point me in the right direction here? Essentially I have 4 vu's and I want to use them to monitor whatever signal I send it via xlr connectors which I will normalize. Do I need to create a power supply?

thanks!

if your using it on the same signal your recording/monitoring then you need a buffer.
try this VU Buffer kit page

SOT....I have VUs like these on my DDA S console meterbridge. ( the yellow square VUs as on the Pro VLA )... The bulbs are out and I wanna replace them. I opened the back of the bridge...... Can these bulbs be replaced without soldering?..Thanks..

The bulbs on my TEAC VU's are soldered in. It's probably not so hot to get in there to replace them.
