Thread Starter | Problems with remote for Tascam CD-201
Hi, folks: I have an old Tascam CD-201 CD player that was hanging around in my attic and I took it out and dusted it off. I had long ago lost the remote, and could only find one on e-bay, so I bought it and when it got here it wouldn't work. Already contacted the seller and they are being helpful. It came w/ new batteries, but I already replaced them anyway. The little red light on the top of the remote (model # RC-31) goes on when I press the buttons. The seller suggested looking at the front of the remote through a digital camera when pressing the buttons to see if I see a light (I didn't). However, I had a question about the CD-201. Is there something I should be doing to make it "remote-capable?" I long ago lost the manual. I have contacted the seller about the negative "light-test," and will probably send the unit back. Any thoughts about anything I could do to the deck itself (It's been a long time since I used it)? I posted this question on a Tascam User Forum but nobody has gotten back to me yet. Those of you familiar w/ the CD-201 know that not having the remote sucks because you need it for things like fast-forward and reverse (you can only do start/stop and "next track" from the front of the deck). Anyway - any thoughts? Thanks, reflexbc |
