Neumann module console

Im considering buying a used Neumann module console with 12 v476 preamps and 12 line channels. Are these consoles any good in using as a mixer for a digital system.
It has w492 Eq´s and w444 faders, its been in a radiostation. Is it possible to use other modules from lets say Neve or Api? Hard to find any info on the internet, thankfull for any info!!!! The frame is called 31102:

The schematics of these Neumann modules are here

Vintage German modules

surely you can mix together other modules simply connecting input and outputs, pay attention to the power supply, 24V in Neumann modules, may be different in Neve, and it's a dual power supply (+ / -) in API.

it´s not that easy. Neumann didn´t use the 500 VPR connecting scheme or anything similar. Every module has it´s own connecting scheme, see schematics, with Tuchel or DIN connectors. Some aren´t easy to find nowadays.
Besides this it´s a fantastic sounding console if it has the features you are looking for. It will fulfill what you expect soundwise from Neumann. I have a V476 preamp which is my favourite "in-ya-face" vocal pre.

If you don´t want to buy it drop me a pm, I´m interested to get it.

Hey, Thanks For The Info Given jensenmann, The Reasons For The Upgrades Is Because When The Console Was Given To Me Many Of The Modules Where Missing So Now I'll Have To Try And Get Back Some Of These Modules Or Find Other Modules That Will Work With The Console "Mainly Preamps, Eq, Faders & Compressors." To Me The Modules Left In The Console Are More For Disc Cutting And Not Mastering I Have Some Pics That I Can Show.
I Don't Have Any Pics Of The Cards At The Back But I'll Get Some So I Can Show Them You Because When I Check Out The V 472 It Dos'nt Look The Same Way As The V 472-15-2.

contact the original seller for any SK module information / schematic.
SK = Sonderkassette = custom build module.

or I can mail you 200 different SK A module schematics ...

Hi Terry,

if I find a schematic that could fit I will mail it to you - but I don't want to scan all of them ...

the SP77 is a Tape-To-Disk control console (like the SP79) - all my schematics are from custom recording / production / broadcast consoles ...

but you have good chances to find a mastering / disk cutting studio with all the schematics. in this case I doubt the SK modules are really custom made, they should be the same in each console.

H480B = test oscillator
V457ST = Hi-Fi Matching Module
RK cards are relay cards

V472-15-2: would be interested to see a pic
V472 is a normal "universal amplifier", like the V672 etc
the -2 is for stereo. the 15 I don't know - could be the number of the slot, or "limited to 15kHz". and I know at least 5 different building forms of this amp ...

As Volker said that is a Disk Cutting console. The fun modules like the EQ's and compressors have been removed along with the console mount mating connectors. Unless you are intending to use it for it's original purpose I don't see the point of putting it back together again.

I have schematics for many of the modules. You would need the console wiring diagrams for that specific console unless you were going to wing it.

Hey silent:arts, Im Very Greatful With The Infomation That You Haved Shared And Again Thanks Alot , If U Find Anything Else Please Contact Me, Thanks.Oh There's One More Thing I Went To Check The Board Last Night To See If The V472-15-2 Looks The Same Way As The v472 but What I Notice Was In The Slot marked "V 475-15-2" Was A Module Marked OV 46 D In That Slot, I Don't Know If You Would Know What That Is. I'll Try To Get A Image Of The V472-15-2 Later.

Hi Paul Gold, I Know It's A Disc Cutting Console & That Why I'm Looking To Upgrade It, I Want To Get My Technician To Sort Out The Whole Console For Me And Service The Modules And Set It Up To Suite Me, I Know I'll Have To Search All Over To Find The Modules That I'm Realy Going To Need. I Was Also Wondering If API Module Would Be Able To Fit Into The Slots Of This Console? I Know The Connections Are Different But I Just Want To Know if The Modules Are The Same Size? I'll Be Happy With Anything You Can Share.

An OV 46D is an a line amplifier. They come in a few varieties. With and without output transformers. I have schematics. You probably are also missing an OSVD which is a summing amplifier.

you are better off making something custom with the 472's than trying to rebuild this thing. I had an older SP console with everything still in it, but with age and various mods done it was going to be 3-4k to make it useful to me.

This looks like a huge project to say the least

I Have Shearch All Over the Net And Have Not Found Anything About The v472-15-2 That I Have.

to be honest I can't see much use of the modules still installed.
the most valuable modules are missing (thus expensive to replace).
I even can't tell you if it is normal in the mastering desk to have the V472 / V475 cards without transformers ...
you could check if they have been desoldered.

without the transformers I don't see much use for a custom build.
the only thing left are the OA10. if they work you might find some buyers using it as spare parts.
