Hi Logan,
It turns out I actually had the docs already. Yes, the "Line" position does un-balance the XLR input, and shorts Pin-3 to Pin-1 in the process, which Pro-Tools would probably not be too happy about. I'm not sure how the SSL box deals with unbalancing.
And, sure, I'm happy to look at any gear you send my way.
Best,
Ike

well I think I have the connection to the SSL converter sussed, but now that I'm further into the board I find it has some problems mainly with the subgroup function, some channels will subgroup to others and some wont and some will subgroup to subgroups 1&2 but not 3&4 and sometimes opposite to that.

Also the control room outs on the master section only work on one side and if I engage the alt mon switch in the CRM section it starts to work on the opposite side, If you engage mono it works on both sides, but it mono I assume since I only had a single mic plugged in, I'm not 100 percent on that.

The meters on the master section work, but one side (the right side) is not functioning well and takes way longer than the left side to return to zero when the source ends.

Anyway I think alot of the problems are grunge related, the board was stored for 3 years and probably has some corrosion issues, so my first question is what do I use to clean it, what have you guys used? I want to clean all the faders, pots and switches and the ribbons at the connections. Does anyone have a recommendation for cleaners specific to those areas. I know some of the P&G conductive plastic faders in my old soundcraft were supposed to be cleaned with soap and water, but I haven't even looked at the faders in this board. Take care, Logan

Hello! The control room outs on the master section is actually stereo jacks, delivering one stereo out within one jack. CRM1 is the master, and CRM 2 is alt. monitor.

Master Section Meter level drops

Hi guys! My 4000 master section has this symptome: the left meter loses about 10dB a couple of minutes after powering up, without any changes in sound. Does anybody know how to cure this? Thank you!
