Bass was a Direct Input Using Ampeg VI

Hey man,

Was bored so had a listen to your mix and it needs some work. I'm not going to go into the technicalities of how you should amend it, but i'll tell you what I think you need to work on.

The drums arn't mixed properly, infact they are mixed from the drummers perspective as opposed to the audiences. Unless that was a personal choice I'd amend that for good practice..

The kick is a rumble, it lacks definition. I'm not a massive fan of really clicky kick drums, but this one needs atleast some more click and less rumble. It would suit this style of music better too. If you were using triggers, possible try a better sample.

snare could be brought out, and be placed in the centre of the mix, it sounds as if your overheads are panned hard L, hard R. That makes your kit sound like a mile wide

The toms, if there were any, wern't really audible enough to comment on

Overheads arn't just for cymbols. Pan them to the audiences perspective as far L and R as possible making sure you keep the snare in the centre.

Bass sounds hidden in the mix, when I actually hear it, it sounds acceptable

Guitars sound like guitars and thats probabily how you want them to sound, although they seem to get lost under all that vocal and drums

vocals just dont sit right in the mix, they sound like they are just chucked over the top of the rest of the mix and the screaming, can I hear the mic clipping there? Somthing you might want to work on.

Your mix is muddy and bass heavy right down to 20Hz, you might consider a bass roll off around 40hz when you master the track if you dont want to remix it. I think your mix could really benifit if you take the time to read up on areas of mixing you are unfamilier with. Also try using a few different pairs of monitors/speakers when making your decisions. One last thing, I could be totally wrong...Its all preferance. Good Luck

your in the right direction however, you need to make the mix balanced in the mono first before speading things out a little into stereo field.

first rule of rock mixing, get the drums rocking. I suggest you start over with the overheads first, clean up the bass in them then if you are of the green way, get stoned and play with compressing the overheads add in the kick then fill in snare. then go to the bass guitar play with eq and plugins till it rocks add the rest. compress what you need to only after reveiwing it in the mix and it sounds thin.
get a happy mix in mono and switched to stereo. then add your verb thing. then review it with your artist to get feedback to see if it is thier vision; make suble composition changes/automation and it will be good.
