How many good NOS tubes are there left (and what happens when they're gone)?

are there warehouses or even basements still full of these things or just a few here and there?

are there good ones being made today that compete with the bulk manufacturing of back then?

i notice groove tubes is doing mullard reissues, but reviews seem to indicate a ridiculously high failure rate. and telefunken seems to be still using only nos in their mics.

thoughts?

Economics. They will be available depending on demand. Technologies are still available, but the higher is demand, the cheaper is manufacturing of better quality tubes. There are still warehouses and basements full of excellent tubes made for TV sets, and that tubes are better than popular mass-production guitar amp types like developed in 1935 6L6 and it's rugged clones, but I don't expect that such tubes developed in 1960'th and 1970'th will be manufactured again: they are out of fashion.
