replacement knob caps

Guys over the years some moving around some of my gear has caused me to lose the colored caps (for instance the caps on my NTI EQ3). I'm only missing a few, so I don't want to make some huge bulk order.

Where should I go to find them? How are they measured to determine what sizes I need?

I pulled up a pic, and they all appear to be black with a white indicator strip. Is that what you're looking for? It appears to be an inner knob, which are usually press-on with a D-shaft. You have to pull one off and measure the shaft diameter and note the shaft type. Have you tried the manufacturer? Here's a place with a great assortment Electronic Hardware Corporation EHC custom plastic knobs, control knobs, aviation knobs, push-on knobs, Metal Knobs, Traditional Knobs, Round Knobs, Fluted Knobs, Aerospace Knobs, Dial Knobs, Pointer Knobs, Bar Knobs, Button and Slider Knobs, Machine , and a list of retailers. Maybe something there.

Best, Paul

Thank You!

Hey, just wanted to chime in with a thank you "Paully." My rack upon rack of dbx modules is missing I believe 1 knob cab and a couple are really not the correct color. It appears these folks might be the ticket! I have yet to check with a pair of Vernier calipers, but if they don't make them, I'll bet they could steer me in the right direction!

I suppose I am "anal retentive" about that sort of stuff, but their is a reason not to like the missing ones, and it is just sort of weird to have a row of modules of one type, and all of the sudden a control that always has a green cap on it, on an adjacent module there is a blue one, or what have you. Thanks!

(I suppose they should lock me up for caring about this sort of stuff!!!)

Best regards,
dwire
