Vintage Sennhesier 421 with no bottom end Hey Geekslutz I'm looking for some advice ... I've got one of the ol' white Sennheiser 421's, with the rolloff. Seems as though there's pretty much zero bottom end, without the rolloff. With the rolloff, even less. Yes, less than zero. As my ears recall, the current 'flat' position of the mic is missing lots under 125 Hz, the rolloff probably pushing that up to 200 or so. Anything I can check for? Decaying capsule? Should I just take to my mic tech and let him figure it out? Thanks.

Think it's a diaphragm issue, nothing easy to fix. Have one like that too. So if you find a cure/fix, please let me know! Martin

Shucks. Any other thoughts? Or will this thing permanently live on guitar amps, never again to see a drum kit?
