Hakko 936: tips and temps?

Greetings.

About to pull the trigger on a new Hakko 936, but with the blinding array of available tips, I'm wondering which tip(s) the gearslutz Solder Masters are using for basic XLR-type cable soldering.

And also, what is everyone's favorite temp setting for same?

TIA,
-0.9

The chisel tip that comes with will serve fine for xlr's and 1/4" jack work. I bought 2 other tips and have used neither yet. Save your $$ and try that one first. I'm running at a c-hair under 750. Love the set up BTW.

I'm pretty good with a soldering iron but I ain't no "Solder Master".

Cheers, Jeff

Thanks, Vin! Highly appreciated. I'm no solder master either, but after several years of Radio Shack irons, the Hakko will no doubt feel like Excalibur.

Kindly,
