| Gear addict | Allison Research gain brain Hello---- i just picked up 4 allison research gain brains (not the gain brain 2) and i was wondering if anyone had any schematics or any documentation that would be useful to me. Three of the 4 work well, but the 4th one exibits strange behavior when coming in and out of compression On top of that--- these are a bit differernt then any other compressor that i've used, so i'd like to know a bit more about them; theory of operation... ect ect I've heard many people like them, and i got them at a spectaular price, so i'm eager to learn if they will be useful to me. I also got two keepex gates that i probably won't be using, so if anyone wants two keepexes for maybe one gain brain 2 that would be coool thanks marsh

| Gain Brain schematics I got a Kepex schematic from: http://www.musicparts.com/al.html They have Gain Brain as well. They want $20 payment via Paypal, but it's the full manual and schematics. You'll ccertainly hear a Gain Brain working when it compresses! As far as I recall, there was a slight issue with audible clicks from the groovy light show meter ... it was quite common in studios to find the ladder displays broken and left un-fixed for just this reason. |
