| Gear maniac | three phase power issues. Hey guys. I am looking at building a distro box. but I still struggle with the advanced three phase power issues and looking for a little help with it. If I run 100 amps into a box three phase. What would my output capacity be? I am thinking 300 amps? 100 amps per leg of the three phase input? is this right? If someone could verify or explain what that numbers would be that would be awesome Thanks for any help. -- Ben

| I'm pretty sure it's 100A per leg, but if you don't know you probably ought not to be doing this without a real electrician. (Even if you *do* know you probably ought not to be doing this without a real electrician.) Waaaay too easy to kill someone. |

| If you have a 3-phase, 110v Wye connection, then you have three 100a legs that are fairly well isolated from each other. You'll have 3 hot lines, one neutral line (I think that has to be rated for 2x the 100a, but make sure), and a safety ground. There should be about 208v between any 2 legs. -tINY |
