| Lives for gear | Any mods to DBX 386?
Anything that can make a DBX 386 better sounding? I mean... that won't cost twice the price of the unit and that doesn't need a rocket scientist to do...

I did a 586 a while back. It has a bunch of surface mount quad opamps and the 2017 mic pre with AD drivers. I put in a BB INA217, a DRV134 and some high test quads. It was a bitch to work on. Jim Williams Audio Upgrades

I pulled out the cheap chinese tubes on my 386....and put some british Mullards in it. It made a big difference.....EZ to do, and on the cheap too! Your local electronics store should have some 12AU7 tubes... rock sdf |
