Ribbon cable & connectors for D&R Dayner version II

Hi,

Second time I ask. First I did in the remote area as the desk is a live mixingconsole. But no replies, so I thought, oops, wrong place, lets look where we techies are....

I have a D&R Dayner of about 1992 (I think) and it's upper ribboncable is damaged/loose at the masterfaderpack. I want to replace it. Where can I buy ribboncable and where can I get the ribbonconnectors?

I have acces to a ribboncable set of a D&R Triton. Would that fit?

Please let me know.....

Ribbon cables themselves rarely get damaged, unless they are physically abused. but sometimes the IDC connections can get a little lose.

You might try squashing the connector halves in a small bench vice (with suitable protection) to see if that helps.

If you really need a new cable you can get the parts at almost any electronics supplier. You simple need to know how many conductors - they come in standard widths. Then buy the right length of cable and enough connectors to build the cable. The connectors are usually attached with a special jig, but again, careful use of a bench vice produces just as good a result, it just takes longer.
