Seeking advice re: a good entry-level multimeter

I've decided to learn some basic electronics so that I can look after cabling and build some preamp kits. I just picked up a soldering station and vice, and now it's time to get a multimeter.

I've been checking this one and this one out.

Anyone know if these'll do the trick for an amateur like me?

I got a new Fluke 115 off eBay last year. Brand new one's are going for less than $90 now.

Regards,
Bruce

One 9v battery with 12V lamp (or a LED and 430 Ohm resistor) in series would be enough.
