Fixing A Linn Drum

i'm a studio intern, and there's a lovely Linn Drum sitting unused in one of our back rooms. I've made an offer for it and they're going to let me work on it. If I fix it, I'm buying it. If I don't fix it, i'm going to let them hang on to it

So, any advice? I've never worked on anything like this before and I'd love some pointers. Apparently it won't power up... I've had the foresight to think about the power supply and any fuses (obviously...). i'll report more about it soon but I'd love to get some opinions/insightsnow. Thanks!

i got a chance to mess with it today.

i plugged it in, turned it on. nothing.

i pop it open, and the fuse right behind the power plug is blown. i don't see any other fuses.

anyone know what this fuse is? i don't want to go blowing it up......

but ok. i'll confess. i put another fuse in that may or may not have been the right one. that said, i turned it on. and something powered up. it made a loud humming noise, and emitted a sort of unpleasant odor.

...what do i do now?
