Yamaha 02r - Schematics

hey everyone,

i hope anybody can help me with me 02r-console...
it lately crashed caused by powerproblem.
so far i could roughly locate it..
but for a complete solution of the problem i need to have the schematic, i think.
so...does anyone have a service-manual or just the schematics or at least an idee where to get these?
that would be great.

thanks in advance for your help.

greets, posi.

The 02R service manual is very big, it's very unlikely you will find it for free as a scan, you will probably need to buy it from Yamaha.

I don't have the schematics but a very common o2r power problem is the four pin molex about in the center of the psu regulator board. I have repaired many o2r's with that problem. You need to pull the board and re-solder it on the back side - reinstall then your done.
By the way, the proper way to reinstall the ribbon wires is to first push the cap down on the receptacle and then push the wires in.
hope this helps.

Exclamation 02r went dead

Hi ktf,
My 02r just went dead!
I turned it on and the lcd lit and turned like the vertical hold was off (like on an old tv) then immediately went blue.
The blue lcd is the only thing that lights, all other leds are as if the 02r is off.
I also hear some clicking from inside the 02r.

Is this a symptom of the psu regulator board issue that you described?

Thank You,
Stabb

I have an 03D, I turned it on one day and had the Blue screen...Sound still worked thru though. It turned out to be a capacitor on the LCD board had gone bad. This is a Known problem with 03D's, maybe it affects 02r's too.
Hope this helps.

Stabb, just PMed you.
For everybody else there is also about 8 fuses that should be checked inside. If you do power on fuse checking be aware that some of them are AC fuses. There are voltages stenciled on the board where the ribbon wires attach too. Ask me how to open the thing if you feel like taking the plunge.

Question Hi Ktf!

I wonder if you could help me..
i ghot a 02R with a PSU problem (i think)
3 fuses inside are gone (F205, F206 and F207)
First i thought it could be a current draw problem but the diode bridges and capacitors seem to be ok. So i think it's the PSU..
i tested what i get from the CN902 (the plug that comes from the PSU) and i got:
BR1: 34,7 V
GY2: 30 V
BR3: 25,7 V
RE4: 0,45 V
BL5: 35,4 V
RE6: 25,4 V
OR7: 39,5 V
OR8: 12,2 V
the pins i got connected to tha damaged fuses are BR1, BR3 and RE4.
You wrote that a common solution for a similar problem is to..
"You need to pull the board and re-solder it on the back side - reinstall then your done. "
could you explain a little better what you mean by that?
on my one i found the 4 pin molex got a little bit darker where it's plugged..(burnt) could be then the same problem?
thanks!

O2R And Bad Solder Joints

I had 3 O2R's and 2 out of the 3 had power issues that turned out to be bad solder joints. I think it was somewhere under the screen, it's been awhile since I fixed them.

Also 02R Problems

Hi everyone,
I also have a 02R mixing desk, which doesn't work anymore.
Yesterday I opened it up, but found nothing abnormal.
I switched it on and nothing happend.... put Sound at the input and the signal Led lit up. So I proofed all fuses, which are ok.....cleaned all connectors from and to the power supply.
I also ordered the service manual from Schaltungsdienst Lange – Digitaldruck, Anleitungen, TechDoc, Buchdruck, Geschäftsdrucksachen: Schaltungsdienst Lange – Startseite and hope that it helps.
Do you have any other ideas what I can proof?

Thanks.

Hi, my 02R has these same symptoms - I'm on the look out for info, also is this a part that must come from yamaha or is it easily available elsewhere?

cheers
