Magnatone amp needs new speaker....suggestions?

Hello,

I've got an old Magnatone Model M-197-3-V tube amp that I just found and am slowly fixing up. The 8" speaker has a tear in the cone. I have no idea what kind of speaker to get so any information would be great. I don't even know the impedance of the driver that's in there now.

Thanks,

-Chris

I found that the stock speaker is a Oxford 8" 75L-2. I couldn't find any information online about that speaker. There are a few 8" Jensen speakers but i'm not sure what to get. Thanks for your time!

Chris,

Have you tried noodling around at Magnatone The Unofficial Ampsite ? You might find some answers. I'm currently building an M5 from old/new parts. Quite an adventure. They made some great amps that would give any Fender a run for it's money. Also, take a look here Replacement Speakers@Vibroworld.com The Source for Discount Tube Guitar Amp parts, Worldwide Shipping, News and Information. .

Best, Paul
