Thread Starter | Best components for treble booster?
Hi, I'm new to DIY electronics. I can solder and have done a couple repairs on pedals and built a simple passive attenuator. Okay, so now I'm embarking on another beginner project: the treble booster. What I need to know is, what types of capacitors and resistors are recommended/preferred for this sort of app? I already know the values I need, but I don't know if I need "metal film resistors" or "polyester" capacitors or something. Any suggestions would be appreciated! |

Generally with guitar effects and pedals you don"t really need High end Parts, I"m sure 5% carbon resistors and ceramic and electrolytic caps would be adequate...... I personally use 1% metal film resistors and poly or Mylar Caps with most projects as that is what I have in my parts bin...... If you really want to get into guitar effects and pedals check out this site: DIYstompboxes.com - Index they have hundreds of schematics and layouts of many great pedals includeing treble boosters(they are easy to build) and overdrive/Distortion ,Compressors Octavers, and most other popular guitar effects...... Cheers |
