PSU Options for 2 SCA pres in a 1 or 2ru diy rack

I think the title says it all. I want to rack 2 SCA C84 or T-15's into a diy chassis. I just need options for a power supply that will work and not break the bank. I know most transformers don't fit into a 1ru unit; but that would be ideal. Otherwise; a 2ru enclosure will have to do.

I know about JLM (not sure which to get)
I know about five fish
I know SCA (theirs is a bit pricey for 2 pres)

I'm sure there are countless other options.

Lil help?

BTW: I've got 8 SCA pres in a rack already. I know I can buy their chassis/psu/harness at a big discount. I just don't want to get stuck with 6 open slots.

Thanks,
-poor rich

Hi
You could buy a suitable power one module and if you want it 'skinny' for 1U then replace the mains transformer with a torroidal and 'adjust' the metalwork.

for most of my Preamp power supplies I use the PSU that is used for the "Green pre" as it is a Good regulated supply and you don"t need a seperate tap on the transformer for the +48v phantom power as the phantom power is created useing a Voltage tripler....

The PCB design is freely available on the net and can be easilly etched at home and the Parts for a whole supply is only a couple bucks becides the transformer which should also be cheap(I use small 2x15v 200mA EI core transformers that fit perfectly into a 1U case and can power about 4 channels).....

Cheers

What's this about another preamp design?
I;ve heard he was going to do a DI thing but I'd not heard another pre was in the wings - very exiting.
Have you heard any rumors? Something tubey would be real nice!
I just started my SCA odyssey yesterday - bought the n72 with the 8 channel case etc. How do you find it (sorry not trying to hijack this thread)

They released the T15 which is comparable to mediumto low priced units. Like the Trident S20 and RNP etc etc. It's only 75 bux. I have 8 A12's and 2 N72's. Looking to get a pair of J99's.

I luv em.
