ALESIS MASTERLINK

So,

Alesis Masterlink does not want to finalize the CD. Is there a way only to replace the CD burner? I believe that that is the source of all troubles.

Any input would be appreciated!!!

Yes...

The masterlink has had known issues... this doesn't surprise me.... An alesis tech could replace the drive... but i would get them to check out the entire unit just to make sure... because they are known to be a little buggy...... I had a hard drive go out on me before... I took it to an alesis tech somewhere in north hollywood... i think... and he replace the drive and fixed some other things... that i can't think of right now.... ... to tired... None the less... to answer your question... it can be replaced.

I've replaced the cd-r drive 4 times in mine. Check the OS upgrade release notes. It tells you which current drives get added support. Or, simply replace it with the same model that's currently installed if you can find one. A Sony or Lite-On drive should only cost you about $25. It's a simple matter of replacing the drive just as you would in a computer.
