002 R 110 Volts to 220 Volts switch?

Hi Slutz,
I'm moving to Glasgow from Toronto for about 2 years or so. I'm bringing my 002R with me and I'm kinda confused on what the best posible solution for connecting it to the electrical outlet is. I bought a stepdown transformer and an addaptor so I could connect my 002 R to the power. Since my 002 was bought in Canada it works by default with 110 Volts. Does anybody know if there is a switch that on the 002 R so I can adjust it to 220 Volts and go direct to the power withot the need of a transformer? Also, is there a cable I could buy to connect my 002 directly to the wall without 3rd party connectors?
Pardon me if this is a stupid question but I really coudn't find any info regarding this on the manual.

I don't know about the 002 but all the HD interfaces are dual voltage.
You just plug them in (well, changing the fuse value is a good idea also) and they work.

I just had a look at a pic online of the rear of a 002 it says 100-230v.
You should just be able to plug it in and go.

Well, I actually found out that the 002 R and 002 will automatically toggle between 110-220 once its connected to an AC power receptable in any country, so i'm sure I will be able to find a cable somewhere.

Thanks Jim

Nn worries.

Any computer shop in whatever country you are in will have this cable.
It is a standard size- usually called an IEC cable or a Kettle cord.

Hey I dont mean to hijack this thread but I have a similar question. I am buying some things from the states to use here in Australia but we run off 220 ac. Will a stepdown transformer be all thats required to run 110 gear?

cheers mate!

Hi
Usually yes most gear will handle 50 / 60 Hz but in ALL cases READ THE MANUAL!!

Yes but often it is extremely easy to convert to 220/230v.

Roland synths, for example, simply need to be opened up and desolder two wires, reverse them and change the fuse.

A lot of power supplies have dual voltage terminals even if they do not autoswitch.
I'm from Australia but lived all over the place- now in the US.

Only 3 pieces of gear (out of around 200) need to be run on step up/down transformers and that is only because the transformers for them are no longer made.

Thanks for the helpful info guys. It sounds like no matter what I get, there will be minimal fuss in running the gear anyway. This is good news. If it is of any interest, one of the bits of gear I am getting from the states are bi-amplified monitors. Should be no dramas yeah?

cheers mate!
