| Lives for gear | Listening position in 22 foot long room?
IM trying to find where the best position is for me to listen when mixing. My room is 22 foot long / 10.5 feet wide and my monitors are facing into the room long ways. As of right now my listening positon is about 7.5 feet away from the wall. My monitors are 3 ft from the back wall and 2.5 ft from the side walls. Im sitting in a perfect triangle. Should I be closer to the wall? Is 7.5 ft away a great distance or would 6 ft be better? From what I understand the worse place to be is the center of the room? Im hoping there is an engineer in here who can mathematically put me in the ball park. Thank You in advance! B

With where you have the speakers, it works out that you are in the proper location.

Also, when walls and floor are properly acoustically damped it is not a problem.

| My experience would be that putting them along the long wall would be better, but probably best to try it.

I wonder if that listening position(38%) also applies if the room height changes like here. 20Ft X10 FT this is a side view! |
