Time to share some samples of the Sound Skulptor STS in Action!
The following posts will contain individual instruments and finally there is a comparison of the mix with the STS processed files and without. "bypass"-files are the original files recorded through the STS on bypass. This should ensure that you are not listening to my ad/da or anything, but just the STS.
The drums are programmed in Toontrack's Superior Drummer. All the other instruments are played and recorded by me. The attached pictures show the settings used for the individual processing!
Have fun and enjoy!

Reason: screwed up the first time :-P
Other than that, there was a 2dB volume boost applied to both mixes and a little 2.5 dB boost at 10kHz, a 1.5 dB cut at 250Hz and a high pass filter set to 3ßHz and 24dB/octave. But the rest only comes from hitting the STS! I think the changes in overall sound are pretty easy to perceive.
Now it's time for you to judge if what the STS is doing for me, is what you are searching for! And don't hesitate to give some feedback (good or bad) on my samples and especially if you liked what the STS is doing with the tracks!
I love my STS! The drums sound compressed, eq'd, saturated and sometimes a little distorted (a pleasing distortion the drums benefit from in the mix!) all with the turn of one knob. It's amazing! Other instruments can use this effect too and most of the time you'll think, that with the STS engaged it sounds "better", at least when you listen to it in the mix.
Just to be sure... the roughmix contains the STS on the individual instruments and not on the mixbuss!
I also want to offer, that if somebody has a recording they want to be processed with the STS to find out if they might have use for this unit, please post it here or send me a pm.
I have to add, that the effect the STS has on a full blown mix won't be as obvious as it is on (multiple) individual instruments all processed differently and in the most fitting way.
