My new Advanced Audio CM47fet

Got my Advanced Audio CM47fet last week.
Looks like an 87 or 67, but the internals are inspired by the fet47.

Did a quick drum test this weekend....... will do some tests with vocs, gtr, and bass cab later........ Here's a couple samples and pics of how I used it. Both are just the CM47fet. One in close position with just the kick. The other is at a distance with full kit, and mic set to omni.
The primary reason for getting it was for outside kick. I've been using a 10" speaker as a sub "speaker mic", and it works great....... but I've still been wanting a more full range sound option.......... I found it

This is a very nice sounding mic. I set it up as I would my "speaker mic". It wasn't as "whoompy" sounding as I thought it would be. Really quite punchy, and pretty flat. I could actually see using only this mic for the kick, in certain situations. It's just a very honest natural sound...... like what the drum sounds like.
Still have to do some dialing in between using the -10 pad and setting the pre just right. It has both cardioid & omni settings, and both are very useful.
I would say it doesn't sound just like a fet47, but does the job I needed it for.

To top it all off............ Dave Thomas, the designer, is a super cool guy . He corresponded with me during the ordering process and after I received it. Gave me some good tips and info. I highly recommend doing business with him
