Beyerdynamic MC930

My first quick recording with the Beyerdynamics.

Until today I was recording my AGs with SM58&57, what a difference!!!

I must experiment more but here is a clip, with them.

The guitar is a Martin D28 with very old strings, though.

No EQ, just a HPF at 40hz.

Chain: Martin D28-2 Beyerdynamic MC930-2 Avedis MA5-Art Pro VLA II-RME FF 400-Cubase and Lexicon Concert Hall Preset.

The room is not treated.

Very nice. I've recommended these mics several times and for the money, is there a better SDC? I know I'll get an eye roll or 2 saying this, but I also found them to be the most similar to my KM84, in the way that the high end always seems to stay smooth. They are on the darker side but I guess that's what I like!

Nice playing my friend. I'd experiment again with a closer spacing and or x/y, there were a couple of spots on some sharper transients that I could hear the image shift a bit and I find that happens in spaced pairs. But it's a bit of a nit pick. You did a fine job

They also come with nice suspension clips that are small enough to use in front of choirs and even small ensembles on a live stage. Great mics!
