Thread Starter | HCL Solution s2 Samples I Recorded and passed through my HCL Solution Leveller some Electric guitar and Bass Samples. I used different settings and i tryed to keep the same volume level between the dry and the compressed samples. The recording chain is for the Bass sample : Prism Sound Orpheus Preamp --> Prism Sound Orpheus AD --> Prism Sound Orpheus DA --> Solution --> Prism Sound Orpheus AD (Bass Player - Gianni Gadau) Here the bass samples : ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- The recording chain for the Guitar samples is : Mesa Boogie tremoverb --> Shure Sm57 --> GML Preamp --> Prism Sound Orpheus DA --> Solution --> Prism Sound Orpheus AD (Guitar Player - me) Here the Electric Guitar samples : ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- The recording chain is for the Vocals samples : Beesneez Arabella Producer tube mic --> Avedis MA5 Preamp --> Prism Sound Orpheus AD --> Prism Sound Orpheus DA --> Solution --> Prism Sound Orpheus AD (Vocals - Mauro Manca) I compressed the vocal samples with slow attack-Hard knee and fast attack-soft knee settings. I also included samples with the Class A mode (the most trasparent) and the cascade AB mode (which is close to the La2a) Here some Vocals samples

Easy on the total amount of compression/limiting please. All samples start "pumping" its worse on the gitars. Could be a great machine but I can't tell from these samples.

I used some extreme settings to show the trasparence of the sound when it passe through the Solution. I will Post this week-end the same samples with a less heavy pumping effect. _____________________________________________ Giuseppe Loriga http://www.docsound.net |
