For Lexicon 480L:
For this one, you need a serious setup with the high end console, high end converter and serious master media.
And mixer should be in perfect condition (serivced) 480L connected with at least Mogami gold studio quad neglex cable. Otherwise cannot be seriously compared..
For plugin LX480:
You will need the same treatment to sum on analog console with D/A high end converters D/A converter delay compensator, and other things...
Yes, anybody with couple million $ studio with a lot of time?

No, you just need to pass the same .wav file through both units (Identical Signal path)
I demoed and then purchased the Relab---I also own the hardware Bricasti M7. The Relab to me would be much better represented by backing way off of the modulation- it really does not need much modulation- if at all. To my ears, the Relab becomes a much different reverb without the modulation. It easily matches the Lex PCM and beats the other software reverbs that I have used. I don't think you can just match the settings of the Relab with the Lex by using the numerical values- it might get you in the ballpark, but you still have to use your ears. If you just use your ears I think you will eventually be really blown away with how well the Relab works with just about any sound source.
Just wish it was free...
Thanks again for taking the time to put up the sound files! -JT
Here in attachment are Original Presets from 480L values taken from user manual.(updated)
I think LargeHallR default preset should be used for shoot out.
Also preset for Aether 1.5 should be different: New Aether 1.5
It should be 480Large Hall...from this link. Modulation "Ultrasmooth".
A+B seemed too subtle/short at first - I think they needed to be a bit longer
C I though at first this could be X-Verb
D I liked this one the best - it was the most noticable 'grand'
E This sounded good too, would be best for acoustic use.
So #1 D, #2 E
Just my 2c.

How do you just get the Tail section in Space Designer? Also I can't find the Todd AO IR in Logic?? Oh I feel like such a noob right now.
I'm impressed, on piano, I'd be happy with 5 examples i heard. Beautiful diverse flavours of reverbs, None sounded terrible (i.e. from a creative point of view).
Don't wanna know how much getting it all: VSS3, DVR2, NonLin2, LEX native PCM bundle, Aether, Relab 480 XL, and Altiverb, TrueVerb, and RenVerb. nearly 4k???
can somebody please help me, as i'm a bit confused about the whole product pricing structure...
on the relab website, the only thing i can buy is the 480 lx lite. as i understand it, buying that for $199 allows me to upgrade to 480 lx mk2 for $300.
but nowhere can i find the 480 lx mk1.
what's going on? is the lite version just a teaser for the upcoming full version?

Hi,
there is no such things as the "mk1". That is, these are the products:
LX480 Lite (Available now): USD 199
LX480 MK2 (Available in the future): USD 499 I think, but is not 100% sure, sorry
Hats off to the O/P for creating this test, imperfect as it may be, it is still
interesting. I would hope to see more of such tests of ITB reverb plug-ins.
