Bees Neez James - Harmonica Session with Doc Span - Files

Greetings all.
Here are some files I recorded today.
Harmonicas played by the Aussie Blues Harmonica Legend Doc Span.
Doc is a very fussy bugger when it comes to recording Harp.
He was very happy with the tone I achieved using the following Signal Path.

Chain was
- Bees Neez James with high roll off engaged -
- JLM Audio TG500 Pre with 80Hz Hi-Pass engaged -
- Urei 1176LN -
- RME Converters clocked with a BLA Micro-Clock at 24 Bit 48k -
- Into Cubase 4 -
- MP3 conversion with Samplitude 10 -

fuuck

Sounded great to my ears.
Doc is no fool - he heard the recorded sound on my 'good quality' Monitors and he was happy with the tone.
That's good enough for me.
Still waiting to hear back as to how the Producer liked the files.

Heard from the Producer today - "Sound is great - thanks".
That's good enough for me.

Set it up just like recording a vocalist with a metal pop filter.
Distance around 4 to 6 inches.

I know this is an old thread, but I like the tone just fine.

Ever heard of Sonny & Brownie, George?

This is similar to tones I have heard on their records and they are about as authentic as it comes.....
