wow... that's some kind of radical depth/goo on the JCF/sumthang.

this has gotta be the most extreme example of summing/tubes/iron turning boring digital into something which sounds like a record.

I APPROVE

thumbsup

how much does the sumthang/DAV8 combo cost?

Maybe I missed it but what AD conversion was used in the OTB session?

They are the same exact audio files that were originally tracked to RADAR V @ 24/96K.

I can tell you, that I tracked the song, listening though the JCF/Sumthang, so all my choices, were based on what that pairing sounds like. This is perhaps why my ITB is ca-ca, and sounds not as cool, as I think I would have made way different choices and movements [with the tube mikes we used] should I have monitoring "cleanly". I can live with that. This ITB mix was just static and really nothing scientific at all. We used some pretty incredible microphones though.

Im confused. Are these the same mix just with the ITB mix being summed analog as opposed to in Logic? It really does sound like two different mixes to me. If not, I'm very impressed. If they are different mixes, however, that really doesn't prove anything about the hardware, right?

That's becasue they are two different mixes. They are different mixes with the same audio files. Make sense? I have no reason to try and prove anything here. Not sure I was trying to do anything expect show you why these hardware boxes rule.

One is stemmed and passed though hardware [JCF 8DAV and InnerTUBE mixer] The other is a mix pass using ITB [computer mixer] and bounced using Logic.

OTB Make you feel different, eh?

Let me kick this one.

I gonna setup a few systems
One will be Mac Pro > Apogee Symphony 64 > JCF DA8V > Innertube summing mixer.

Will this be the perfect combination at that price or do some of you think its better to change the Apogee for something else?

Tiny333, is your DA8V hitting a Sumthang, or a RMS216 with a Pair of JCF LEVR's? Either way, I am now very jealous. Congrats on getting the coolest sounding 8 channel DA on this planet and beyond.
