Arrow A-D Conversion Test & Redux

Found this test months ago, but it was so big, and i was so lazy,
finally decided to download it, and what a surprice!.

Some AD tests are poorly done, but this one... its verry well made.
Titanic download... 1.68GB unzipped.
recomended downloader:
Orbit Downloader: the ultra file & social media (YouTube etc..) download manager

personal comments:
The Aurora + BigBen has an incredible 3D sound. "But i think Drawmer M-Clock sounds better/diferent"
in this test the aurora really sounds like Aurora.
there are other aurora tests in the web that sound so bad it makes me wonder why? could be the AC line quality? the digital cable quality? a bad unit ? too much EMI & RFI interference ? auroras being cloned by some copykat chinnese company? diferent Board rev. versions? a bad lot/batch of components in some auroras?
for example the BLA sparrow vs. Aurora test, or the Behringer ADA8000 vs. Aurora test
something strange is going on with some auroras.
i think its the AES/EBU cable quality not good enough.

also...
the Diference of the SSL Alpha Link AX int.clock vs. Alphalink+BigBen is incredible.
ive heard other clock tests, but this one feels did used good cables & clean AC power.

All the files are still there - If you saw how my system goes together you would would understand why I had to clock them all to my BB. It's a complex explication as I have a elaborate digital system.
I want to emphasize I did the test to how the convertors would sound against each other in my system. So I clocked them all to my BB. They way my PT rig is wired into my studio I have to use a system single clock.

i just listened to them

i think aurora might have sounded the best but, i noticed it sounded like a different take on certain parts. at one point after the harmonica section they had vocals and then it went to a spot where you heard a shaker in the background with some guitar playing.

on the aurora part there was a second guitar playing, but on the rosetta part that guitar wasnt there. i was listening on headphones so it was in my right ear.

all the converters sounded pretty good except i didnt like the digidesign converters, or the ssl alphalink without wordclock. with the wordclock it sounded like that "sound" that the waves ssl plugins give you.

i liked apogee rosetta/ad16x and lynx aurora

The Level of the Rosetta file is around 2 dB lower than the original

That's STRANGE

And lower than all others converters files

If you don't know that
Comparing these files you will find Rosetta Bad
So CORRECT the level in your DAW
to do a FAIR comparison.
