Celestion G12T75 vs Celestion V30

I recorded a guitar test a few days ago, micing my Bogner Uberkab which has Celestion V30 and G12T75 in "X pattern".
Drums are programmed.
We used the song "Drifter" by IN FLAMES, but with a different tuning, for this example.

Chain was :
Gibson Les Paul Studio with EMG pickups => Maxon OD-820 tubescreamer => Peavey 5150 => Bogner Uberkab => SM57 => API pre => Lavry AD10.

Tracked twice and each panned hard. There is a tiny bit of EQ in the DAW, same for each speaker.

Here is the Celestion V30 sample.

Here is the Celestion G12T75 sample.

Question

the G12 for the first part ,
the V30 for the "chorus" part 0:07 - 0:09, 0:17 - 0:19.
in some parts a mix/blend between both.

the G12 has the highs, but lacks the mid bass.
the V30 has the mid bass, but lacks the highs.
a mix,...
the V30 file is too loud in the mix for my taste.

Here is a mixed V30 and G12T version, I worked on the EQ a lot more, it should be a lot better :

Now I should add a growling bass :D

The combined mix sounds best to me. The V30 alone sounds better for borderline metal/hard rock, while the G12T75 alone sounds kind of sterile and accurate. Together they pound rather well.

Thanks for the post. I have been wondering about how a G12 would sound with my V30.

I really dig the 75T in this case.

I know that the original In Flames "Reroute To Remain" sound was done through a 5150 and G12T75 speakers , though I think there has been a lots of EQ to get the final sound which I think sounds original and crushing.
Check this :

I have a new cab with G12T-75 in it and I'd like to either swap them out for my V30s or do a mix of both in the same cab.

Do you recommend this, is an x-pattern the way to go, if I do so will my V30s afect the way my G12T-75 sound and vice versa?

The G12T-75 are kindda cheaper than the V30s but they sound cool too.
Do you guys like cabs with multiple speakers in them or does it only make it harder to mic?

I'm thinking about this cause I'll have to sell one of the two cabs so...maybe I'd like to keep both type of speakers but also I think that it could be somewhat harder to mic it because it would not sound like it does in the room unless I mic both type of speakers...

Anyway, let me know what you think.

Since I posted the extracts I sold my Bogner cab and got a Mesa Rectifier cab with V30 only.
What I can say is that the Mesa seems to sound a bit tighter in the lows, maybe due to the fact that it's only V30.
With the V30 you get the mid presence, tight low end and airy high end (depends on how you dial the amp of course), G12T75 has scooped mids, but has more bass and is agressive in the high mids/treble.
I recommand to get two different cabs with different speakers.

I can't afford to keep both cab but I'll try the different combinasion, I'll try to record it too and see what I like the best, I'll let you know what I end up with.

I just removed the back of my two 4x12 cabs.

One has V30s 16ohm the other has G12T-75 8ohm.

Can I mix them, I need a 8 ohm cab if possible, how could I do that?

I'm new to speaker wiring but from my understanding you cant get those speakers to run at 8 ohms if you connect them parallel you are looking at an impedance of 5.333 ohms Which would be below the minimum impedance of your amp (This can causes your speakers to draw too much power causing your amp to over work which can burn components out)

If you connect them serial they would have an impedance of 24ohms and would reduce volume significantly.

most of what i've read about parallel/serial connections leads me to believe you would want the same impedance ohms from all speakers. With speaker the same your end impednece would be the ohms of 1 of the speakers.

Yeah I figured that I couldn't mix them so I kept both cab
Thanks for the info though.
