Ya gotta know people high up the ladder.

Honestly I think that was Bryan McCurry's, probably a custom color, he and Avedis are like peanut butter and jelly. Kind of a weird analogy.

Are these MA5s good for running instruments through when mixing?

It was one of the prototype faceplates... a one off when we were working out all of the different color combinations. I think Bryan ended up with it, and it's now in someone else's hands.

Yep... you just need a couple of Avedis' line z adapters.

Did yall hear what I heard from these samples? The BAE 312A sounded so smooth and even across the spectrum. This can't be. It almost sounded like there was a compressor in the chain. Wow. Unbelievalbe preamp and it sounded the most professional out of all the other preamps. Damn, somebody give me a deal on two of these right now!!! Anybody else feel this way about the BAE's? The BAE sounds like the goto preamp for vocals!!!

My second pick would be the Purple Audio Pants for vocals. Man that things sounds nice and clean!!

The MA5 and the BAE 312a were my favorite on male vocals but out of the two, I'd have to pick the MA5. Im gonna join the 500 club soon when i get enough cash!

I heard that too, I was already interested in the 312A's just for bass, but now I'm definitely going to pick a pair up for use on other things as well. I was also pleasantly surprised with the JM-130, I like how they sound.

Anybody have any idea where I can get the VSI M-1 Preamp module used in this test? It was my personal favorite for the electrical guitar. I tried the VSI website but with no luck.

Any suggestions?

EDIT: Gave a call to VSI Audio, discovered the M-1 has become the L-21 due to some model number confrontation with a John Hardy pre. I'm under the impression that these will be available fairly soon through their website or direct contact with VSI.
