Quick-Somebody give me a couple clips (Alan Smart VS SSL Comp)

I'm at my buddy's and I got an hour or so later to test out an Alan Smart C2 versus the SSL Comp plugin. Could somebody put up a few unprocessed stereo files on a server so I can download and run 'em thru the paces?

OK, here are a couple clips. They're not perfect but maybe it could give you an idea to the sounds. Its a drum loop. One files is the Alan Smart and one is the SSL Comp on dual mono. Compressing about 4db, flipped the phase on one, tried to cancel out with the other. subjective, yada yada yada

Wow.

This thread died fast.

I guess people have finally tired of the subject?

I liked #1... but then again it was the loudest, and you know how that goes. It also seemed to have a much snappier envelope than 2 to my ears.

Well, I'll give my 2 cents. I had both units here in my studio, as well as a number of others including the Alan Smart C1, for a week. I hated the SSL, which i expected to love, and loved the C1. The C2, not so much. Too many options, i think. the C1 has been vital for me for 2.5 years. I would not work with out it. It just sounds great. This one has a black face, which I've been told is somehow less common.

Dust on this thread

Despite the dust on this thread, I'll give my 2 cents:
#1 has a slower attack and faster release (or lower ratio?) to my ears.
#2 has more snap, and sounds more like what I've learned to like qith the waves G-Bus pluggin. This said, #2 changes more the frequency response, dulling the loop a bit.

Anyone hearing the same thing?

Thanks for the samples anyway.
