Submit Microphone Samples - Vocals

I have been browsing many forums regarding gear especially microphones. Almost everyday someone submits a question: Which microphone to buy blah blah blah... and the replies in my point of view is not really that useful. All you hear is this mic is great and the next reply another mic is great. Better replies explain about mic characteristics, how long it sits on the mix and frequency ranges. There are a lot of musicians out there in different parts of the globe that do not have the luxury go into a shop/studio or bring home the microphone just to try out to see how they sound on it. Its frustrating as there are too many microphones out there these days and the instrument called voice is very subjective and unique for every individual. But if we listen to sound samples we can here some similar characteristics like airy, husky, bright, warm, dark and a lot of others. That would definitely help people as they can see/hear for themselves how the mics sound like.

These are SE Electronic Microphone samples i found in the net.

ChristianGilbart - Christian Gilbart - Tracks Lonely World and Sooner or later are recorded using SE Z3300a

YouTube - Amy Winehouse - Love is a Losing Game - Amy Winehouse on SE 2200a

YouTube - Apologize - Timbaland feat. One Republic ( not live ) - Very nice vocal cover of the hit song "Apologize by One Republic" vocals by Ricardo Munoz recorded using the SE Z5600A

media: sukimok.com - A lot of tracks here are recorded using the SE 2200a.

I'll add on more when I find more =)

Cheers!

I would be really helpful if everyone includes which pattern is being used (when known). A cardiod pattern can sound completely different than an omni pattern on the same mic. It is not very meaningful to compare two different multi-pattern mics that are using different patterns without knowing that data.

Thanks and I think this thread could be helpful..

Thanks for the feedback. I myself wish I knew what kind of polar patterns were used but there is no way to tell unless I did the recordings myself. I got all these from all over the internet.
