this is neat!
Could you just give me a few infos on how you saturated the buss, do you mean you had the master at 0db and brought each track higher?
Or you changed the master as well? Is it pre or post master fader?
If other people are interested in doing the same test with other boards, any board, this would also be a nice way to compare gear...

All the faders were at unity gain with the exception of the master L/R. To drive the output without changing the respective levels I routed all the tracks to the busses and then raised their volume along with the master faders. I never touched the channel faders during the test.

thanks very much for the test. it's a lot of work and very appreciated.
Yep... I've only read this far into the thread and I totally agree. B is much more meaty. I absolutely prefer it and am very curious which one it is.

Okay... I very much prefer "B". My question to the Gearslutz community is this:

How do the 8T preamps compare to the pres that were in the Oram BEQ 24 consoles?

I've used one that looks like this one extensively:
ORAM BEQ 24-32 CONSOLE SOLD!!!

I have to say I did not like the pre's at all on it. If I buy this 8T console it will be mainly for summing/EQ so it isn't a deal breaker, but I would like to know how the pres compare and if they are indeed exactly the same as the ones used in the BEQ series.

Thank you.
King of Swing, excellent question !

Looking forward to future developments with the metal shafts John & great to see some affordable options are still available from England.
