I think it's quite easy

a wav = oktava
n wav = soundelux
n comf = manley 1
o comf = manley 2

I prefered the presence of the manley 1
thanks !

I have modded Oktava mic and my guess would be that it is a. If it is not then what a deal we have got with that mic.

Hi Gabriel,
Sorry for this late reply;
just bumped into your tracks here.
Thanks for posting and sharing!

Without looking at the solutions;

I preferred o_comf and n_.
These turn out to be both Manley samples.

The Oktava a_ sounded more thin, uninteresting (yet not to bad highs)
The n_comf (Soundelux) seemed overhyped to me in this case.

o_comf (1st take, Manley) is the winner for me.

All the best,
-Emanuel

here the a_ sounds horrible silbance
the n_conf sounds overhyped, but that is desireable for my taste
the n_ sounds less hyped = more natural and transparent
the o_ here sounds similar to n_conf but less harmonics "-hyped"

You have recorded 2 takes from different distances, right? Manley was used both in the far and close mic recording whereas Oktava and Soundelux were used each in one take, right?
My guessing is:
a - manley gold
n_comf - manley gold
n - soundelux
o_comf - oktava
BTW there were no such model as 312, 319 perhaps? (I own unmodded one).

eh, umm poor guessing as I see now...

It's interesting to me that the most naturally transparent, the Manley got the lowest marks. I voted for the Manley second take which sounded a bit closer than take one. Even the Oktava got votes which was harsh and thin. The Soundelux was a lot closer but still harsher and hyped, perhaps pleasantly in the midrange, but I have a low tolerance for distorted highs.

my ranking goes like that:
1. n_.wav
2. n_comf.wav
3. o_comf.wav
4. a_.wav

Why are people still guessing if the results are posted?
