Here are some samples and philosophies that might come in handy when purchasing a microphone. Great lengths were taken to make sure these were accurate as possible. Enjoy.

Nice job recording and organizing everything. I just wish the samples were higher bitrate-- these are mostly subtle differences yet some of the mp3s I downloaded were encoded as low as 128 kbps.

#1. great room !!!
#2. selecting a room mic without eq is tricky...
the one that gives more mids "the awfull" with no eq, will give the better room sound with eq usually

#3. sadly thers no Adk, MXL or Shure K mics there

F_2200 has a nice room sound, but.. alost anyone sounds ok,

M_gemini too harsh, M_2200 WOW, M_3300, M_U67 too midbass, M_Z5600 nice highs but the opposite of U67 no midbass, no bass, too thin

P_4050 or CX112
CX112_Room..

with eq:
"P_1290CV_Room has incredible noise floor .HISSHH..sadly"
SCX25 or P_Gemini_Room sounds like heaven
4050 its dark but nice


Drum Mic Samples:::::::::::

snare--d1-or-i5 ::: the 57 sounds good but overused = boring
floor-421-or-d4 : 98 sounds too mid that could work for other music
F15_overheads no eq or scx with eq WOW snare !!

4050 with eq has a tiny bit more magic, but scx was 99% close

Yes, The difference its BIG
yes, .flac level=0 its way way better than .mp3,
even .mpc --quality 9 its waybetter & smaller than .mp3
but still, the difference its BIG

...use free Telos Audioactive MP3 Decoder
works wonders with the Frauhofner encoded .mp3s and some Lame
aadec112.exe or the player aaplay206c.exe
or take the wax out !!
