the fathead alone is a little to fat for my taste, but it sounds very nice combined with the 57. where did you place it?

If the Fathead was moved a bit further back, it would probably lessen the muddiness. I'd love to hear the same thing, but with the Fathead a foot or two further back.

As it is, the combination of the two sounds much better than either on its own. Nice little test, thanks for sharing. I think I'll be picking up a Fathead before long.

I tried that and did not like it personally. I would not intend on using just the Fathead, so I was really just looking for some bottom end from it. I think it does that nicely so far.

What was the guitar setup? Which Preamp and AD Converter were used?
The combination sounds nice!

That is a Paul through a Dual rec into a Boogie 2x12 with V30's in it. The 57 is in the Germ pre, the Fathead through the Gama in Iron mode. I have Digi 192's for my convertors.
I think we may break out the Marshall Jubilee today and post those in the other thread!
