Much better AF, flash trigger, much faster CMOS to reduce jello with video, af during video, better control layout, capacitive touchscreen with physical switch to enable/disable touch input (very useful with video and af to be able to set a point to focus on), improved automatic white balance in indoor situations, usb 3 or even thunderbolt port for streaming and remote video control/shooting...

Used to be, Nikon is about to take that sector too.

Better ISO Noise handling
Better AF
Better lens glass

Yes the D800 looks nice..

What glass do you mean? D800 isn't shipping with glass(as you's expect) ..You mean nikkor glass is better than Canon?

But I think that's jumping the gun a little as the D800 isn't actually out yet. Even then Nikon will have a battle with tens of thousand of 5d's out in the field and not one D800 at this point and by the time it does actually ship, I strongly suspect Canon will have announced something. 2012 should be an interesting year for cameras that's for sure.

I'll take a couple of 5D mkIII's if....

- A way to record straight out of the camera on SSD and bypass the codec.
- No more recording limit or at least more than half an hour per take.
- Love the turnable screen on the 60D
- Stronger body (rain proof would be cool)

I like using the Zeiss lenses

Yes Nikkor glass is better. I've worked on a few film sets and seen stills taken with 7ds and 5's and I've always thought they never look as good as they done on my Nikon. I only have a d200 with a mix of old and new lenses but I LOVE the quality I can get.

Even if Canon announce anything most film people know Nikon is a slightly better Camera for photos just their video side of things was always lacking. I think the d800 will change that.

But to be honest I like both Cameras, I even like Pentax and Leica too but i just have a preference for Nikon....

Sooooo...the 5D MkIII is finally here...what do you think of the new specs? The the AF has been seriously upgraded as has the ISO....I so very nearly bought one in Japan...then realised I should probably wait a month or two..
