Universal consumer audio box for DIY xmas

Hey Slutz,

I was invited to my girlfriends family Christmas eve where everyone makes gifts for each other. So I was thinking of what to do...and I just want to know if there is anything I am severely overlooking here.

The idea is to get plastic project boxes, and drill ins on one side and outs on the other. Inside there will be three copper strips, or rails hot, cold, ground to connect to the other side...all would be connected. So you could plug in say a 3.5 millimeter on one side and could go out via RCA, or any combination thereof.

Want to include:
1/4"
3.5mm
Banana
Bare wire screw posts
RCA
Grounding lug
(???)

Any reason why this absolutely would not work or be a good idea or safety hazard?
