Samsung Galaxy S2 problems

so here the story goes..

I seem to have a bad hand when it comes down to smart phones.

well long story short:
Samsung support sucks.

I can not upgrade my firmware since 2 month.
everything original on the phone, no bootrom mod, no root mod, nothing.

I am stuck with 2.3.3. so are a lot of other people (check forums).

KIES (their itunes) stinks. Before the latest update today, the firmware updater said: "you do not run original firmware, that's why we hate you.. (similar)". not it says: "for your phone, there is no new firmware available".

I want to upgrade to 2.3.5 (or at least 2.3.4) because of battery drain issues.

Samsung support on the phone, keeps telling me, that someone at Samsung is not just drinkign coffee, but actually workign on the problems.. the Swiss support cente could flash it for me, if I send in the phone and wait 14 days. COMMON!

ok.. I wish Samsung all the evil on this world and hope to have a fixed 2.3.4 or 2.43.5 soon. pray for me Gina Lollobrigida.

Oh man. This thread has thrown me. My iPhone 3G is nearing the end of its life and I simply cannot afford an iPhone 4.

I was looking at the Samsung Galaxy S, as well as the HTC Desire HD. The spec on these things is amazing for the price, but it's so typical that nobody lives up to Apples UI/UX in their software.

Might have to just start saving.

If you are going to copy a phone from another company you should poach a few engineers too.

sorted it out after a lot of googling
seems to be a Switzerland/Ireland/Austrian problem with location detection.

my phone was running in AUT mode (which is kinda provider/location detection for KIES). I switched to Germany (DBT), phone went into reset, I reconnected it with KIES and was able to download the actual firmware.

seems like my repair center fukked something up, after sending in the phone for a broken display/flashing some month ago.

cheers
G

Distortion when recording

Just so you know, the GalaxyS2 ( Epic Touch 4g) CAN NOT record live music without distortion. I'm about to switch to the iphone because of this.

The video looks great but is worthless for anything above normal conversation. IT needs an adjustable Auto Gain Control limiter.
