And I thought my touch screen got smeared. (I do have quite dry skin.)

It's like fingerpainting with body oils. Can't wait to get a tablet.

I liked that!

It's actually likely to be a pretty handy vid for folks trying to decide whether or not they want to upgrade.

And, with regard to the original posting... there are a lot of folks who have integrated iPhones with their studios and businesses.

I just set up the tethering plan on the iphone 4s. Its a little faster if you plug the phone into a USB port rather than use the wireless airport connection.

In Southern California South Orange County- I am getting about 4Mbs connection, not too bad. I can hit 11-14 with Verizon LTE sometimes, but you can't always get an LTE connection. The Verizon 3G network is very slow here.

This may be of interest to soft-tinkerers who are forgoing the upgrade:

Cracked! Siri has been successfully ported to an iPhone 4 | VentureBeat

Honestly, as a non-iPhone owner, I wasn't even aware that recent iPhones didn't have speech recognition without a third party app like Vlingo. One gets so used to glowing testimonials (on everything except reception, call-holding, perhaps) that it's sometimes surprising when one's not-necessarily well-informed assumptions are confronted by reality.

(I used Vlingo on my old Blackberry for a while... but it was more fun than useful... since it fairly consistently mangled everything I said but often in highly amusing fashion. When I got my 'free' Android, I was truly impressed by how good Android speech reco is. From what I've read, Siri seems to be very well done, as well. And the integration with the phone's features appears to be spot-on, from the glowing first notices I've read.)

Got mine too and the speed over my old 3G is just plain shocking. Haven't gotten my BlueAnt earpiece to sync yet, not much hope there I think... The camera seems great so far and the video ain't half bad either, it all loads up super fast.

How are you getting 4G/LTE? The 4S is a 3G phone.

At best, it's only marginally faster at loading a web page than any other 3G phone using a network data connection. Only internal processing is faster. Tested it tonight against my 2 year old Palm Pre - both on Verizon's 3G - about the same loading espn, cnn, etc. Disappointing actually - I've been considering a 4S, but was didn't realize it wasn't 4G.

Kind of an important point for people to realize - this comparison video was done over wireless. All phones/devices in the Apple store are on their local, and quite fast wireless network, not cell data connections. Huge difference in web speeds. The comparison video is good for showing internal phone speed differences, but not actual data speed unless you are around a fast wireless/hotspot all the time, but that still means paying the carrier's data plan fee, but getting no network speed bump by upgrading to the 4S.

I guess Apple has to hold something back to lure 4/4S buyers to upgrade to an iPhone 5 in 8 months.

Not as interesting as a YouTube video..
But my new 4S got a GeekBench benchmark score of 609.
My old 1st gen iPhone got 138.
The 4S is pretty zippy! All my little apps on it run great with zero lag at all..

anyone test how quick it transition into the camera and how long it takes to switch from Camera to video.

Drives me nuts on my 4 when I need to get a picture off quickly. Getting the camera to work from dead stop is sloooooooooow.

Wow, guess this is important for those who only have seconds to spare. You think it will help me call my Mom quicker? Any way to get her to pick up the phone a bit faster? I mean time is money after all!
