So what do you want from iPhone 5 ?

Iphone 5

Me, I want faster Web browsing.
Quicker boot up / changes from one operation to another

SPEED!

A better camera is always good.

True stereo !! That would be good! The stereo speakers in the BB Bold was Great!!

Lighter?

If it offers all that then I will toss my iPhone 4 in a heartbeat.

I already have battery charge taken care of by the Mophie Juice pack system.

I want face time without the need of wifi

Higher resolution front camera( regular camerai takes some pretty damn clear pics)

A better phone charger

A way to delete music from the phone instead of having to go to itunes all the ****in time!

Even longer battery life

Let's not get all crazy here! We'll quantum computing first I'm sure...

I want 1080p HD video and 1080p video output with at least an HDMI adapter (if not a mini port). I think a step up to an 8MP camera is expected as well so I can finally retire the need to own a point and shoot. Slightly bigger screen and better audio, as well as compatibility with the 4G network would be a huge plus as well.

- I want a foldable iPhone that doubles the screen size.

- I want wireless headphones, with all that WiFi jazz and stuff, why can't we have that?

- I want loop and pitch/playback speed change modes in iTunes just like Capo has but it's a drag using a seperate application for it (and Capo isn't iPhone compatible anyway. This would be huge deal for learning songs, practicing, analyzing stuff, etc

- And I want WAY more storage space. I refuse to listen to mp3s - Apple Lossless is fine but it fills up my 32 GB very fast.

I would love to see more out of the OS, actually. Specifically with the notification system. I would also like to see quicker access to settings like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth ala SB Settings (for those who have used that app). The texting could be a little better as well, ala ByteSMS.

As far as hardware goes, I have no idea what I would want updated.

Damn.. I still run a 1st gen iPhone! No 3G, no GPS, no iOSv4 even. Im practically living in the dark ages
Actually I tried to upgrade it a couple of times, but because of the constant gold rush for the damn things, I never got my paws on one..

iPhone 4 looks great as it is though. But so far they seem to update the thing every year. In June? 4 months or so away right? So once again i'll hold out for whatever revision might come out this summer!?
No idea what i'd like it to do beyond what the 4th gen can do though!?

Would be nice if it worked with more websites and more file formats

Most of the sites I use need flash or have links in formats not supported by the iPhone, including Gearslutz.

I'm so fed up of apples walled garden that I won't be buying another iProduct unless they change their policy on this (which won't happen so I'm already looking at non iOS phones, tablets already).

I'd like the option to hide that I'm using a mobile browser too.

better camera. just switched from a blackberry bold 2 and the camera was far superior. I got great shots from it. I barely use my iphone camera. Other then that I am in PHONE HEAVEN! No complaints.

Better search and sort features in the app store.

The sheer number of music related apps is overwhelming and I wish there were separate categories for music playback and creation.

This is one problem hemadroid users don't have( few music apps).

That's actually a really good point and solid request, it could be so much better, in fact I was pretty surprised at how bad the app store is at directing you towards things you might (or not or not know yet) want - like Amazon does for example. A missed opportunity on Apple's behalf but the money is flowing in so perhaps not a priority. Shame.

I'd like iPhone 5 not to hose my iPhone 4. When 4 came out, I updated my 3G to iOS 4 and it hosed it. I had to upgrade my device prematurely since there was not an easy way of downgrading the OS.

Oh yeah, and flash player. HTML5 sucks.

Ain't happening. Adobe has released a program that will allow Flash content to be ported to HTML5. Good luck with mouse-overs with your flash enabled tablet or smart phone.

I saw iOS5 yesterday on an iPhone 4 and it ran pretty fast, I couldn't tell the difference. It looked basically the same, but the iCloud is going to be an amazing addition. You can sync your phone with computer remotely.

Yeah, cause nobody's ever done a mouse over with javascript right?
Besides, you should know that flash has supported touch interactions for a while now. How else do you think the packager works? In any case, I begrudgingly agree that flash probably won't ever make it to iOS as a browser plugin but not for the reasons you've described.
