Besides, you should know that flash has supported touch interactions for a while now. How else do you think the packager works? In any case, I begrudgingly agree that flash probably won't ever make it to iOS as a browser plugin but not for the reasons you've described.
Adobe has failed to optimize flash for use on portable devices like tablets and phones. They could do so much better but they seem to not care. Flash has consistently been a poor plugin.

I agree that Adobe has some work to do, but I'm tired of hearing people talk like HTML5 is the magic pill that is superior to flash in every way. Show me a single example of a real world html/JS based RIA that is fluid and out performs Flash on honeycomb or playbook. Go do a search on youtube for live real world tests and compare performance. You'll find HTML5 losing out to flash every time.

Again, it's not that flash is perfect or the best $hit ever, I'm just saying the proposed alternative is worse.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this yet but what I would REALLY love to see is the ability to EQ both the speaker you put to your ear when in phone call as well as the speaker that is used during speakerphone calls. I hate listening to muffled phone calls that lack in intelligibility. A dip around 200hz and a bump between 1k & 5k would go a loooooong way for some phone calls.

1) I want to be able to save files (other than Music) to my iphone

2) Smaller and lighter

3) Better battery performance

4) SPEEEEEEED!!!!
I need the camera to come on quicker
I need to be able to switch between video and camera way quicker
Faster browsing

5) Better Camera.......... although I just took this photo with my iphone 4 and it is up there with some of the best photos I have ever taken. More resolution and better parameter controls (shutter speed etc..) would be welcome

For it to have USB storage space like a thumb drive without having to use iTunes or jailbreak.

Garage band would be sweet...dream on.

A way to delete music from the phone instead of having to go to itunes all the ****in time!
I'm pretty sure that will come with the new OS for the 4...no other way to support the whole iDrive concept--if you're never supposed to have to dock it...it's got to give you a way to get things on and off.

I agree that feature is king for me. I have my 32gb full...usually on shuffle...and I would LOVe to hit some song I don't care for and be able to remove it--gaining space back little by little.

I was listening to one of those idiotic Verizon ads touting their LTE service, and I thought...
"One of the best selling cellphones in the world isn't 4g, that says a lot about the status of 4g."

I think iOs 5 was really the big deal. No more requirement to sync the phone to the computer.

Great update - Siri looks serious! But, not quite enough to make me want to leave my iPhone 4 before my contract is up.

But for someone looking for a new phone or an update from a 3G/3GS, it's mind-blowing!

1080p video ffs!

I just ordered a 4S. Im upgrading from a 1st generation iPhone! It served me well and still works perfectly, but it was certainly becoming limited.. So this should be quite an upgrade

Wow, I'm moving up from a 3G I've had for nearly three years and I though I had a dinosaur!

I have to say even though I would have liked a larger screen on the same sized body that I'm really happy with the update, a much better step up than the 3GS was from the 3G.

Plus temporal noise reduction... if it works well this thing is going to do low-light better than anything out there...

at least a 14mp camera, a dock that has multiple usb ports for easy attachment of gear and released source code would be great for devs!

Seriously something the iPhone 4S dissapoints with... the iPhone 5 need a 4.3 inch screen model. Until then I am very satisfied with android.

It does have video stabilization on the 4S. It won't replace your Canon 7D or whatever, but it's pretty remarkable in low light and it's really tough to clip the audio.

Having programmed Flash in the past as a side gig, I have to agree.

Imo, javascript sucks. It's buggy, slow and looks amateur in the best cases. I've had more problems with website incompatibilities due to JS than any other codebase. Flash just works, and if done well, looks fantastic (a big plus for our work in creative fields).

Flash is far more elegant. Sure, it's slower on mobiles, but because Flash sites aren't always optimized for mobile (and it requires cutting down frame rates to appease the slow mobile cpus).

Apple doesn't do Flash because they don't like Adobe - no other reason. HTML5 is only popular with programmers that have a chip on their shoulder against Flash. HTML is a clunky, legacy format that will eventually need to be replaced, not updated with new tags or some stopgap concept to bypass it's significant graphic/media limitations temporarily.

That said, maybe Apple will have a change of heart about Flash support. 4G on the iPh 5 seems to be a necessity at this point with other 4G phones out now offering 10x the data speed.

Holy shit I'm dictating this into my new iPhone 4S very exciting. Image stabilisation seems to work well also - great! (Had to do a little bit of editing)
